A walk in the woods always wins.

Why?

Because the possibilities of play in nature are endless. Anywhere you look there’s an invitation from a stick, a big, or a tree. Although there are so many different activities one can do this time of year (autumn), a walk in the woods always wins for us.

This is not an ad, but being National Trust members is a gift and a treasure. Today we went to Winkworth Arboretum in Surrey, one our our favourite National Trust places, a real gem of a place. Obviously, at this time of year, they had a pumpkin trail which was really fun. I love trails because it gives our walk a sense of direction which is particularly useful when you kinda want to move on to a different place.

But you don’t need to be members of any trust really. At this time of year, you can just go to any bit of woods to jump in a puddle, admire some mushrooms, jump on chestnuts, collect colourful leaves, and climb on trees.

On this particular occasion, what we loved the most was finding a playground in the middle of it all and making some new friends.
